Using Pre-configured Dashboards

The 3DDashboard app is the main app you'll use when navigating the platform. Dashboards are interfaces where apps and widgets can be opened, pinned and operated. Let's take a look at the tools we have available to us in the 3DEXPERIENCE platform to create and manage dashboards. To view a list of all your dashboards, click the hamburger icon in the top left corner of the 3DDashboard app. Dashboards fill most of the screen on the platform and can have multiple tabs to quickly switch between common views. You may also have some preconfigured dashboards with appropriate tabs setup already. These are called cockpits, but work just the same as dashboards. Let's head into the Collaborative Designer for SOLIDWORKS cockpit. This is an example of how a SOLIDWORKS user may want to configure their platform to view files, tasks and updates within their team. My Data has three widgets arranged within the tab. The bookmark editor is an organized file storage system and allows a user to view the content clicking and dragging files into 3DPlay offers a preview of the file. 3D Space is a file storage app that lists all of your files in a 3D space in one place. Files can be opened in SOLIDWORKS directly from our dashboards, thanks to the 3DEXPERIENCE. Connector add-in. My Tasks contains just the ENOVIA Collaborative Tasks widgets. You can view the progress of all the tasks assigned to your team or filter out only those for you. You can select any task to see where it originated from, its timeframe, any attachments, and even add comments. Tasks can be tracked between three states. My Communities contains a 3DSWYM widget. 3DSWYM is the gateway to collaboration within your business, allowing users to interact with each other, engage with a wide engineering community, generate ideas and follow them as they progress from concept to reality. It's always worth having a 3DSWYM app to a dashboard for easy communication. This will display a feed of posts from any community you are a part of. Ultimately, 3DSWYM is a collection of communities that are organized by collective interests or teams. Let's demonstrate how the 3DEXPERIENCE platform integrates into your daily work activities. This morning, this designer received an email from the workshop for producing the wooden bench frame. They've advised using a different corner treatment to reduce exposed surfaces. As a result, they've created a task for themselves. If they need to, they can delegate by assigning another team member. Make the change and we can locate the bench from the bookmark editor. Right click and open it with SOLIDWORKS. Making changes to the frame in context that says Check that the changes do not interfere with other components. Clicking the Lock button in the 3DEXPERIENCE MySession panel locks the file to this designer, preventing other users modifying the components whilst they work on it. After making changes and saving the file using Save with Options, the file can then be unlocked again to allow other users to make changes. Notice in the MySession panel that padlock was removed from the parts in question. Marking the task is complete tells the team we are ready for the next phase.
