Welcome to today's webinar, Switching to SOLIDWORKS, Leveraging TriMech Expertise to Transition Your CAD. Again, my name is Rachel Jackson and I'll be conducting our webinar today. If you have any questions, don't forget to put them in the question area and I will get to them towards the end of our presentation. So let's look at what we're covering today. First one being, well, why SOLIDWORKS? There's a lot of other CAD options that we have. Why SOLIDWORKS? So we'll kind of get into what we get with SOLIDWORKS. We're also going to look at different SOLIDWORKS ownership models. We have a different model to fit every single person's need. We'll get how to transition into SOLIDWORKS. So we'll get a seamless flow into using SOLIDWORKS, getting used to the user interface and all the other options that come with it. We'll look at the TriMech Advantage and how we can help you guys make this transition easier on you and your team. We'll also look at some client success stories. What are our clients saying about SOLIDWORKS and what are our clients saying about TriMech? So without further ado, let's get into it. So for the first thing of why SOLIDWORKS is to understand that it really is an entire ecosystem of tools ready to help you out. They're fully integrated and fully associative for every stage of your product design. So from your basic CAD packages of standard, professional, and premium, there's a CAD package that fits everyone's needs for part and assembly modeling, as well as 2D drawing creation. We have simulation tools, which can help you virtually test new ideas quickly and efficiently evaluate performance and improve your quality of your products while cutting costs. We have electrical software to simplify electrical schematic creation. We have SOLIDWORKS Composer to develop informative graphics for a broad range of technical communications like assembly instructions, product manuals, training materials. There's SOLIDWORKS Visualize to create professional photo quality images, animations, and other 3D content for websites or for marketing or maybe just a design review. And then there's also SOLIDWORKS Visualize to create professional data sheets. And then there's also SOLIDWORKS Inspection for automating the creation of balloons on engineering drawings and the creation of inspection data sheets and reports. We also have data management options as well from PDM to manage, 3DEXPERIENCE cloud options. There really is something for everyone in SOLIDWORKS. So the UI is also incredibly intuitive and extremely customizable to fit however you want your SOLIDWORKS to look. Whether or not you want to change up your context toolbars, whether or not you want to change up your context toolbars, your shortcut menu, your keyboard shortcuts, mouse gestures, whether or not you want those to look different in a part modeling environment to an assembly modeling environment to a drawing environment, sketch, whatever you're doing in CAD. SOLIDWORKS has options to make it look better and feel better and work easier for you. Not to mention that there are new enhancements with every single release and in every service pack as well. And these enhancements are suggested by users for users. Not to mention that SOLIDWORKS truly is an industry standard. 7.5 million users across 110 countries with 340 plus SOLIDWORKS user groups. Truly means that there is a community of like-minded individuals across all different industries using and loving SOLIDWORKS. Not to mention that a lot of academic institutions use and teach SOLIDWORKS. So the talent pool is ever-growing. And I know I mentioned that SOLIDWORKS has an entire ecosystem, but SOLIDWORKS is also part of a larger DS suite of advanced tools, including DELMIA for collaboration and optimization for supply chains, manufacturing, logistics. We've also got the ENOVIA family, which offers a wide range of tools for product data management, lifecycle management, change management, and quality and compliance management. There's also SIMULIA, which really, truly, is an entire suite of high-end simulation tools that, again, help you evaluate performance, reliability, and safety of materials and products. And finally, we also have CATIA for even more innovative model-based systems, engineering, enterprise, architecture, concept modeling, and so much more. So once you're into SOLIDWORKS, it plays well with all of these other additional tools under that DS umbrella. Okay, okay. So we understand why SOLIDWORKS. But now let's look at how would we get SOLIDWORKS? How do you own it? Let's look at some of those ownership models. The first and foremost is sort of the most basic, which is your standalone license. Think of this as one single user on one single computer. It's tied to one single serial number activated on that machine. It stays active until deactivated. So say you do need to move it to another computer. You can deactivate it on one, activate it on another, no problem. And you can use it offline, too. So you don't need an internet connection to use SOLIDWORKS. But this is not for sharing licenses. Think of this as, again, single user, not shared, one computer. Now, if you do want to share, we might look at a network license. This would be multiple users. So shared or floating licenses. Essentially, you'll have a license server that holds all the licenses. And then the software checks out a license from the license server when somebody gets on one of their computers. And then once that product is closed, it goes back into the pool of available licenses. So you could have maybe four engineers working off of just three seats of SOLIDWORKS because maybe not all four are on SOLIDWORKS at the same time. So it saves you a little bit of money. It allows you to really float those licenses between multiple people. Great. So you like either standalone or you like network, but you're not quite sure, maybe a little hesitant on the upfront cost. We have an option for that, too. And it's called term licensing. Now, I want you to think of term licensing as sort of renting the software. So it's, again, for users that want a lower upfront cost compared to traditional perpetual licensing. Maybe they have a short-term project or a specific phase of a project that they need SOLIDWORKS for. Or maybe some short-term staff needs. Some summer interns, some contract employees. Maybe a new division or a project where the budget is really tight. Or maybe you're a startup or a new business. And again, money is a little hard to come by. Great. Do term licensing and then you can always switch that to perpetual whenever you need to. And when you feel like you can, I'll just say that around the three-year mark is where you'll start to see that shift from where term licensing is more than you need to. It's more costly than perpetual, but definitely gets your foot in the door. It's a great option for those that need it. And finally, I think most people have heard it. Some people are not sure what it is. We also have a 3DEXPERIENCE SOLIDWORKS option. This is entirely subscription-based and it's named user. And those user permissions, controls, who has the license, who can use the license, who can interact with the data. That is all apps and rules controlled. And access granted by the admin of the 3DEXPERIENCE platform. Nice thing about 3DEXPERIENCE SOLIDWORKS is that it does allow you to work on any device. Since the license isn't tied to a computer, you can have SOLIDWORKS on a work computer, personal laptop, and access to your data even on tablets and phones. There's no serial number to keep track of. So user just keeps track of their 3DEXPERIENCE login. It's easier on administrators. It simplifies the license management and data access control. And no need for a license server like in network licensing. So a lower IT overhead. Great. So a lot of different ways that I can get in and really own SOLIDWORKS. Now, is there anything else that you get with it? Absolutely. So here at TriMech, we offer two different subscription benefits. So two flavors. We have the Essential Service and an Elite Service. And with the Essential Service. And with the Essential Service that gets you live technical support. We do have extended hours and quite a wide range of support technicians. Which means that you can get help pretty much anytime, anywhere. We can stay up to date with immediate access to SOLIDWORKS upgrades and service pack releases. Have access to SolidProfessor, which I'll touch on a little bit later. We can log SOLIDWORKS enhancement requests. Access my SOLIDWORKS community and resources. Get vouchers for free SOLIDWORKS certification exams. Get vouchers for free SOLIDWORKS certification exams. Receive a $500 Advanced Manufacturing Services voucher. And get one-on-one guidance and assistance from our technical staff through customer care visits. Do you want them on site? Do you want them in person? We have a lot of different locations and a lot of technical staff across the country. So we really can help you out as much as you need us to. And with the Elite Service, you get all of that plus three times as many users on SolidProfessor. So you can keep your whole staff trained up on the latest CAD tools. And you have access to our Ask an Expert live session with some of TriMech's top technical experts. Receive a 20% discount on TriMech Professional Services team, as well as a $500 voucher for live in-person training. Wow, that's a lot. And a couple different options for what fits you best. All right. So we know why SOLIDWORKS. We know how to own SOLIDWORKS. We know what else we get with subscription on SOLIDWORKS. So we're ready to make a change. But maybe you have some reservations because you're not quite sure how you're going to learn how to use SOLIDWORKS effectively and efficiently. Well, that's where our training options can really come into play. And I want to talk through a couple different ways that you can go through training. The first one is going through TriMech. Our training is incredible. We have quite an extensive list of dedicated trainers across all areas of software and hardware options that we offer. You can take those online or in person. So with TriMech offices across the country, you have the flexibility to attend our training classes in person or take it online with one of those experienced instructors. We have a couple different options for instructors. We have a couple different options for that, too. Let's say you plan to take quite a few classes with us. Well, maybe you'll do our Quick Start Passport, where you can select three of our most popular training courses. So maybe a SOLIDWORKS Essentials, a SOLIDWORKS Sheet Metal class, and a SOLIDWORKS Advanced Parts Modeling class. Or maybe you want to do even more. There's a full passport option, which is used for seven of our most popular training courses, plus the option to select two additional advanced training courses. Or maybe you need an extremely customized training option for you and your team. Well, great. We can do that, too. So this is a diagram just to help illustrate some of the training classes that we offer. Everything from SOLIDWORKS Essentials, Parts and Assemblies, to maybe more topic-specific, such as sheet metal, weldments, drawings. And also to show you that with every SOLIDWORKS software that we offer, we also offer training with it. So if you need maybe a specialized course for surface modeling or for electrical routing, or maybe you have SOLIDWORKS Electrical and you need specific electrical training, we have three different training classes that go with that. Maybe you're on 3DEXPERIENCE and you're trying to use that more with your everyday business. Great. We have platform administration training, user training, and also training for managing your SOLIDWORKS data. Maybe you're doing some high-end simulation, or maybe you just have a simulation standard and you need some classes to go along with that. Well, we have an introduction to simulation course or a Sim Essentials course. Or maybe you're using our PDM, so you need a user training for that as well as administrator training. Again, everything that SOLIDWORKS offers, we also support with our training. So we have a lot of different options for you there. All right. Maybe you're a little shy. You're the type of person that wants to do just an online training course. Like I said, you do have access to My SOLIDWORKS through the Essentials or Elite subscription service. So as long as you have your 3DEXPERIENCE login handy, that means you have 24-7 unlimited access to hundreds of lessons, learning paths, e-courses, all with included quizzes to get you proficient in all things SOLIDWORKS. And then we have the SolidProfessor option. And I mentioned this in the Essential subscription. And if you have the Elite Services subscription, it means that with each seat of SOLIDWORKS that you have, you get three users you can bring into SolidProfessor. Now, what is SolidProfessor? Well, it's an online training platform for each of your SOLIDWORKS users that has over 15,000 video tutorials covering a wide range of topics from SOLIDWORKS to PDM to certification prep and so much more. So it includes tutorials, SOLIDWORKS add-in to help you out on the fly, custom training, skills assessments. So when it comes time for you to switch to SOLIDWORKS, don't worry. We have a lot of options to make that transition a little easier on you and your team. Now let's get into the TriMech advantage. TriMech is part of a big family of different companies that are here to provide for every engineering need that you guys have. So from applications such as maybe your CAD or just any kind of your design software to simulation, maybe some consultancy, or if you need us to run some high-end simulations on our software, we can do that. We have design ideation, design services, product design, industrial design. We can help out with any staffing needs. So if you need contractors or full-time or part-time recruitment, we have a whole staffing department that can assist with that. We have manufacturing. So our CAM software. So our CAM software. We have 3D printing services, but we also offer the 3D printers, scanners, and enterprise services. So your PLM systems and your PLM implementations. So what I want you to think of us as one-stop shop for every engineering need that you might have. And with 300-plus technical specialists and 3,000-plus international clients, we really are here to help anywhere, anytime. So before we go, we discuss why SOLIDWORKS, how we own SOLIDWORKS, how to transition and learn SOLIDWORKS, what the TriMech advantage is. And now just shedding a little bit of light on TriMech, here are some of our companies that we've partnered with. This is just a small snapshot of a very much larger list of clients that we work with that we've got on here. Siemens, Nikon, Trek, Jaguar. Some of them you'll recognize. Maybe others you'll recognize. You won't. I like to leave this here just to share that we are in almost every industry that you could think of. TriMech is there and TriMech is helping. And before we go, here are some kind of firsthand counts, success stories from just two of our clients that we've helped here in the past and how SOLIDWORKS has been a major part in getting them where they want to go. Mechanical engineer Soheb Siddiqui from EM Dynamics said, Our focus is on design, engineering, and manufacturing versus what it takes to use a particular tool. SOLIDWORKS is not only easy to use, which is why it's been our only CAD system for the past 15 years. It also provides integrated sheet metal design and simulation tools, which makes developing products and making refinements faster and easier. And from another engineering manager, Maurice Lavamodier from South Medic Inc., Plastics design is highly iterative process, requiring numerous design changes. For example, you may need to add a draft to a part, which affects the assembly, the mold, and all associated drawings. With CADKey, you would need to begin again for every change. SOLIDWORKS software makes handling these design changes much easier. All you need to do is open the feature manager, make a change, and all the associated parts, assemblies, molds, and drawings, update themselves automatically. So we've heard from the clients. We've looked at why SOLIDWORKS. We talked about the family of tools. We talked about the different ownership models of SOLIDWORKS. How TriMech and our training options can help you make that transition to SOLIDWORKS CAD so much easier. So I want to leave you guys with one last thing before I close out this webinar and we start taking some questions. is the question, are you ready to make the change to SOLIDWORKS? And if you are, know that we're here to help. I've got this QR code up on the screen. We're going to go ahead and take some questions now, but I really appreciate everyone listening in. If you're not going to stick around for questions, have a great day. But if you are, I'm going to go ahead and get to those now.
