Building on the recent DS PBR appearances, SolidWorks design now supports both GLTF and GLB formats for import and export. This means that realistic materials stay with your model as you bring it into or out of SolidWorks. The intelligent assistant in SolidWorks can now suggest measures to improve assembly performance, allowing you to catch potential issues before feeling the impact. The assistant can check for various concerns, such as mates being slow to solve. In this case a large sub-assembly has been made flexible. The assistant offers a detailed account of the mates at the top level and flags the flexible sub-assemblies in question. It also checks for circular references, which is where two or more components depend on each other to define their position or size, creating a rebuild loop. The total number of circular references are reported and the largest circular reference chains are identified. In this scenario an assembly cut feature is affecting the mate position of each tread section, and is easily suppressed to resolve. Another consideration is the graphics performance. Factors that have a high impact on graphics can be flagged, such as graphics triangles, or in this case the number of appearances. The assistant has identified a part file with an appearance applied to 106 individual faces. This can be easily resolved by removing the appearance entirely, or possibly applying it to a body rather than those faces. These quick, point in time diagnostics allow you to maintain fast, stable assembly files, and reduces the risk of costly rework and fixes later down the line. A new enhancement for the isolate command is the ability to continue to isolate components from an existing isolated state. Simply repeat the process as needed. This provides a neat method for efficiently creating focused display states along the way. 3DEXPERIENCE users can convert an imported neutral card model into a fully parametric SOLOWERX design model using the Convert to Geometry. This command streamlines the conversion of imported models, saves time, minimizes errors, and keeps all steps within the standard SOLOWERX design environment. Previously you could only use FeatureWorks and manual feature recognition for this conversion. A new system option lets you control whether to import configuration data in parasolid assemblies. You can choose whether or not to fully load all configuration data within the imported parasolid assembly. Previously, when you imported parasolid assemblies, the app always created subcomponents at the end of the import that might not have contained all configuration data. This resulted in incomplete subassemblies and subcomponents that did not display configurations. Starting with 2026 FD02, users can export SOLOWERX documents directly to eDrawings from within SOLOWERX design or automate batch exports using the task scheduler. Making it faster to share lightweight, view-only files with colleagues and customers who don't have SOLOWERX installed. SOLOWERX design 2026 FD02 allows users to keep suppressed components correctly linked when saving assemblies with in-context references. External references for suppressed components now update correctly during the save as operation, eliminating broken references when components are later unsuppressed and reducing manual cleanup when reusing assemblies.
