got to protect the planet, really, and we've been affected to fuel And there is an opportunity here for us to create a new passenger experience Vertical Aerospace, Electrical Vertical Takeoff Landing Company. and we're developing new ways of flying. The aerospace industries being revolutionized by this new electrical way of flying. And I'm lucky enough to be part of the team. We are developing what's called an electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft. So. this will carry one pilot and four passengers. So we've all got used to traveling on large aircraft, travel long distances, and then we get stuck in traffic whenever we want to travel short distances. unless you're very wealthy and you can afford to go on the helicopter, there isn't really an alternative today. So with these improvements in technology, we're now reaching the point where we can come up with an electric aircraft that can take off and land vertically, like a helicopter, but it's a lot safer, a lot quieter, a lot lower cost and being electric at zero emissions at point of use over time. Actually, the beauty of electric aircraft is they really disrupt in the cost of ownership. So helicopters are amazing machines. But they have some fundamental technical challenges that mean that they have a big noise footprint, big safety challenges and a huge cost. So they're never really going to be a mass transport mode And we see over time EVTOLs gradually increasing the use case. And really I think the big opportunity is this is probably going to be the first electric aircraft most people will be able to fly on. So around four years ago, we first engaged with vertical aerospace. At the time, Vertical, were a startup company we engage with them to really look at the future, how it could develop So starting from an idea through a set of requirements and really going from a design based aircraft into a full blown engineering and aircraft. we ended up working with them not just with the technology, but actually through industry experiences. So using those industry experiences through the people that we have within TriMech enterprise solutions, we really engaged and became part of that team. I was looking around for a supplier of CATIA We found TriMech and I phoned Mark Harris. we realized that we were not looking just for a CAD Package as a whole PLM package. And I think what they demonstrated to us, it would meet what we needed from a CAD Tool but it would take us beyond what we have previously used before. with a PLM tool have to say what an awesome team they were. They right away came and helped us and they opened that door to Dassault for us and a lot as onto the subject matter experts and helped us configure the platform for the functionality that it has and thats awesome. But you can't do it without partnerships through these really knowledgeable companies and TriMech for us are awesome we grew during the pandemic. The cloud platform enabled us to do that and I think when we expanded the team to over 200 people, Dassault came in and was supporting us, Grow the business, look at how we can work with all the different apps and functionality in a cloud based platform And that allowed us to work from home and expand the team and still work very closely with each other. vertical outdoor spaces. We now have just recently achieved a DOA We have supported that through the process of actually going through design, going through the entirety of a change management, but actually relooking at the whole configuration control of this, the effectivities' of the aircraft is we're going through the concepts, the prototypes and now into a certification aircraft. So we're really looking to accelerate that and being part of that team, We now working with the authorities, with CAA, looking to to support that certification model one really that into a model within the 3D experience platform. I just mentioned DOA a DOA is a major achievement for any company you got to remember we started with a clean sheet of paper was our vision with ideas. We’ve now turned them from a virtual reality effectively in the 3DX platform into a flying prototype aircraft. virtual twins are Key to the success of this whole We use a 3DX platform for to master the design definition and that holds the truth for the virtual twin The Virtual twin clearly will be as intended designed. And then we have the build the aircraft to represent that intent. our support within Vertical Aerospace is actually a daily activity. So we're continuously working with that team, not just the design and engineering team, not just the manufacturing team. We're actually part of the core data management team now, so we're actually part of the team that's actually building and working with them, going through to the certification, which is which is the end goal here for for getting the aircraft created. myself and many of the TriMech team members support in in different areas. So we have some key personnel that work in the Enovia side of the platform in the CATIA elements in electrical and manufacturing and we've had members of our team supporting all those areas, helping them produce, you know, the digital structure of the aircraft. It's the enabled us to have better traceability of parts rather than working in C drives or personnel drives. All share points in different areas enables to have all that data in one place that we can track it and we can have confidence in that. We've got all the people signing off their information. The future's bright. The future is exciting. It's also unknown. We've got a lot challenges ahead of us, but we've got a real belief and a strong vision and where we want to go. We've now got a DOA established. We feel very confident and a product and we're reaching out. Now and excited about the challenges ahead.
