Let's take
a look at some of the recent enhancements
around the collaboration environment
in SOLIDWORKS 2025.
We will show you features
that will be available
to users of both 3DEXPERIENCE SOLIDWORKS
and traditional desktop SOLIDWORKS with cloud connected services.
So let's get started.
The first new enhancements is Quick Tours.
These are an easy way to expose new users
to concepts like an interface overview
and how to save to the platform,
and how to open from the platform.
This guided tour provides tooltips
for each important step on exposes
users to different types of concepts
such as bookmarks, collaborative spaces,
unlocking and locking files,
and saving them.
Once completed, they can choose to go
through the next quick tour.
It's a great way to expose users
to platform concepts right from the start.
The next new enhancement is
the inclusion of 3D swim
right in the SolidWorks task pane.
This provides both community access
as well as chat conversations.
It takes full advantage of the share
capability, so users can post files
to these conversations and receive markups
back.
Users can stay connected
to their colleagues and coworkers
without ever leaving SolidWorks.
With the design change made by Debbie.
Eric has notified
that his local cache is out of date.
When a refresh recognizes
a save to the platform where the user's
local cache is out of date,
a notification will pop up.
This new enhancement
provides clear visibility
of what models have changed
and need to be reloaded,
ensuring users are always working
on the latest version of their parts.
Also new this year is the
ability to stamp multiple approvals
onto drawings
for customers who are utilizing
formal approval processes
where multiple people need to review
and approve a drawing.
These approvals are now automatically
added to the drawing title block,
providing clear traceability.
SolidWorks PDM
is now supported for SolidWorks connected
users.
This is a great enhancement for customers
who value their licensing
and deployment capabilities of SOLIDWORKS connected, but still want to leverage
an existing SolidWorks PDM environment
as their data management solution.
And you can still benefit
from secure collaboration
by sharing your designs with others,
allowing them to view and markup
without installing a viewer.
It's a great enhancement
that provides flexibility of choice
to our customers.
On the web.
Users can now access their files
regardless of where they are
on their dashboard.
3D drive 3D space, part supply,
and Bookmark editor can all be accessed
from the main dashboard toolbar,
making it easier to browse your files
and streamlining a user's access
to data on the platform.
And finally,
when you access the information
panel on your designs,
you now have a robust history
that is captured for the item.
Clicking on the history tab reveals
many of the actions
that have been performed on the design,
such as the modified date
who modify the design,
the action that was taken,
the maturity state,
and the details of the action.
This provides traceability that's easily
accessed from the user interface.
just like the desktop SolidWorks
enhancements we've covered so far,
3D experience has a full list
of new features and capabilities
available in the documentation online,
so be sure to check it out.
