In today's fast paced world, the demand
for automation to enhance
productivity is more crucial than ever.
At Solid Solutions, we are committed
to empowering our clients to maximise
their investments by developing software
solutions to streamline workflows.
With seamless integration
into the SOLIDWORKS interface, SOLIDX
increases efficiency by consolidating
multiple tasks into a single click.
This translates to significant time
savings through customization,
automation, and programming of key
workflow components, accelerating
the journey to your final product
while minimising repetitive tasks.
Let's dive into the software and explore
how we can set up some event
based functions
to create multiple experts upon saving,
creating a button
to export a file as several formats,
such as eDrawings
and IGES in a single click,
and then look into some functionality
that SOLIDX has inside the
graphical interface.
The process of utilising this software
is incredibly easy,
simply accessed by enabling the tick box
in the add-in area of SOLIDWORKS.
Two tabs
will then appear in your interface, one
in the task pane
and another in the command manager.
Using a straightforward interface
and a set of inputs,
you can create command based operations
effortlessly.
Open the command manager dialog box,
choose the tab or location
for your new button,
and assign a name along
with relevant details for quick reference.
This will appear while
hovering over the button at a later date.
Specify the operations
you want the button to execute,
such as creating multiple exports
with a single click,
including eDrawing,
IGES, STEP, or STL formats.
You can even enhance the buttons
identification by adding icons.
Once your operations are set,
close the dialog box,
and your newly created button
will be visible on the command manager.
For those running a series of actions
upon saving, rebuilding
or pre-closing, SOLIDX offers
event-based operations.
Select the trigger from the dropdown,
then drag and drop actions,
then the settings can be adjusted
as needed.
Beyond task-based operations,
SOLIDX allows you to interrogate
models and apply actions
based on graphical selections.
This eliminates repetitive tasks
like renaming
auto generated sketches or part names.
Whether it's a native SOLIDWORKS
file or imported geometry,
SOLIDX can intelligently determine
and create centrelines
for complex structures like curved tubing.
This feature swiftly generates
paths or guides
for the next design
iteration, eliminating guesswork.
