First-hand Experiences & Advice on Moving to SOLIDWORKS -Barden Bearings
Barden Bearings transitioned from Creo to SOLIDWORKS following a company sale and the need for a unified CAD platform across sites. With only three months before old licences expired, the team focused on preserving historic data via PDFs and using SOLIDWORKS for all new and revised models. They avoided mass conversion due to cost, time and validation requirements, instead migrating selectively. SOLIDWORKS PDM gave flexibility to design workflows aligned with internal processes and improved document accessibility through web viewing and 3D interrogation. Structured training eased the switch, and future plans include automation, FEA adoption and enhanced rendering and animation for marketing and manufacturing support.
