TriMech was asked to join Xpress Boats to help them 3D scan the bottom of a boat that had comples surfaces. This was advantageous for Xpress Boats and their business because the complex shapes are not easy to model by hand. Xpress Boats and TriMech collaborated a project to scan the boats to accelerate the engineering processes for the future. The goal was to capture a mesh model of the entire boat so that it can be reverse engineered into a design model using the Zeiss T-Scan Hawk 2. This only took a couple of steps.
