Keeping the feature tree tidy by removing unused features keeps the rebuild time low and the design task quick. Not only can Leo easily identify these unused entities, such as sketches or planes, it can also interrogate the relationships between features, ensuring no unexpected impacts are made when tidying up. You can also ask it to automatically group features into logical folders, such as fillets, reference geometry or other feature types, saving you from manually organising large feature trees. The result is a cleaner, more structured model that's easier to understand, review and maintain. Defining each step manually for an exploded view can take time. With Leo, you can now simply describe the exploded view you want using natural language. Either tell it to simply explode, or get more granular with specific instructions on how components should separate, their direction and the spacing between parts. Leo will automatically generate the exploded view for you. The result is a fully editable set of explode steps created in seconds. When facing a modelling challenge, knowing which SOLIDWORKS tools to use can make all the difference. Leo acts as an on-demand expert, providing step-by-step guidance tailored to the task at hand. Whether you're selecting features, defining assembly mates, using evaluation tools or creating manufacturing drawings, Leo helps you choose the right approach from the start. Design changes rarely affect just a single component. With Leo you can understand the potential impact of a modification before committing to it. In an active assembly, Leo can identify which components may be affected, helping you make informed decisions with greater confidence. It can also look beyond the assembly, finding where a component is used elsewhere across the 3DEXPERIENCE platform, giving you a broader view of downstream dependencies. The result is better change management, reduced risk and the confidence to make updates, knowing exactly where their effects may be felt. Creating an assembly structure with AI can save significant time, but engineering judgement still matters. That's why Leo keeps you firmly in control of the process. When creating a new product variant of an existing assembly, you can generate the assembly structure from the open document to ensure that consistency. If creating a whole new arrangement, Leo can build a new assembly structure at the drop of the prompt. Once generated, the user has full control over the structure, before confirming, ensuring the final hierarchy reflects your design intent. Components can be reordered using simple drag and drop interactions, making it easy to adjust the structure as your understanding of the product evolves. Unwanted components can be removed with a single keystroke, and sub-assemblies can be dissolved or new ones formed, ensuring engineer oversight. The result is the best of both worlds. The speed and efficiency of AI-assisted assembly creation, combined with the flexibility and control that engineers need to ensure their designs are organised exactly as intended. The enhanced Generate Drawing tool allows you to define key requirements such as sheet size, dimensioning strategy and tolerancing standards before drawings are created. For batch operations, Leo can add the drawings to the task queue and automatically apply the most appropriate setting to each file. Alternatively, you can choose to enforce your preferred standards, such as ordinate dimensioning, across every selected file, for greater consistency. Now you can ask Leo to add robust equations to your designs, by simply describing your design intent in natural language and let AI translate it into the parametric relationships behind the model. Whether you're defining equations, linking dimensions, creating parameters, or setting up conditional behaviours that respond to design changes, Leo helps build the logic for you. From creating global variables and linked dimensions, to extracting key dimension data for quick review, the Virtual Companion panel becomes a one-stop equation workbench. Instead of manually opening different dialogues, or checking reference material to remember the correct syntax, engineers can stay focused on the design intent, and let Leo help translate that logic into usable model relationships. With Leo you can quickly locate the exact features, entities, or design information like dimensions here, using natural language. Instead of searching through feature trees and filters, or rifling through crowded graphics areas, Leo helps you find what you need in seconds. With the latest enhancements to B-REP to parametric conversion, Leo can now recognise a wider range of design features from the imported geometry, including both linear and circular patterns, as well as contextual draft conditions. Rather than simply identifying the shape, it uses that information to intelligently rebuild the model with editable features that better reflect the original design intent. The result is a cleaner, more editable model that is easier to understand, modify, and maintain throughout the design process. Calculating surface area can be a surprisingly time-consuming task. With Leo you can use natural language to select a group of faces, then simply ask it to calculate the surface area. This process could also be applied to the entire part, selected bodies, or even geometry grouped by colour or feature type. Great for estimating costs for paint, coating, and finishing requirements, with far less manual effort. Creating aligned holes across multiple assembly components can often involve a series of repetitive modelling steps. With Leo you can simply describe the hole that you need, or reference an existing hole within the assembly, and let AI handle the setup for you. Once you select the components to modify, Leo automatically creates the appropriate hole wizard features and awaits engineer confirmation before propagating across the parts, ensuring alignment is maintained throughout the design. Rather than editing components individually, you can generate coordinated hole features directly from your design intent. Creating quick product renders just got even easier. With Leo you can simply describe the visuals you want in natural language, and let AI configure the render setup for you. Whether you need to specify the job name, image resolution, denoiser settings, or other rendering parameters, Leo translates your requirements into a completed rendering workflow. By leveraging visualised processing within Solidworks itself, Leo can generate photorealistic images directly from your current model, without the need to manually adjust each and every setting. The result is a faster, more intuitive path from CAD design to presentation ready visuals, helping you focus on the outcome rather than the setup. Creating sheet metal layouts often involves finding the right balance between material efficiency and production requirements. With Leo we can now generate optimised nesting layouts that help minimise scrap. Simply define your sheet size and quantities, and Leo creates an efficient starting layout in seconds, providing the total instant count and material utilisation alongside a graphical preview. From there you're free to refine the result with precise control over spacing, curve allowances, part rotation, flipping, starting positions, and nesting direction. Of course modifications can be made with simple prompts, and the nesting layout is reworked at your command. Once happy with the layout, you can export directly to DXF and move smoothly into fabrication. Creating pattern features often involves deciding on the right spacing, quantities, and boundary conditions before you can continue designing. With Leo you can simply describe the pattern you want in natural language, whether that's a linear arrangement, a specific spacing strategy, or a defined layout across your design. Leo can create the pattern for you, and even suggest appropriate spacing and pattern limits, based on the surrounding geometry. Instead of manually calculating and configuring each parameter, you can focus on design intent, whilst Leo handles the setup. The result is a faster, more intuitive way to create consistent, editable patterns throughout your models. Creating designs before release is often one of the most important and time-consuming parts of the engineering process. With Leo, models, assemblies, and drawings can automatically be checked against company-specific standards or industry-approved release checklists, helping identify potential issues before they reach manufacturing. Components that don't meet requirements are flagged for review, replacing a largely manual and error-prone process with intelligent, guided validation. In this scenario, the results show multiple issues with sketch definition. A quick prompt can extract all the under-defined sketches, rather than manually thumbing through the feature tree to find them. From here we can open up the file to take a closer look, and utilise Leo to help diagnose the problems with this sketch. They ask what's wrong, and Leo can analyse both under-defined and over-defined entities, as well as identifying open contours, detecting intersecting geometry, and highlighting issues that may prevent features from being created successfully. Rather than just reporting problems, Leo provides guidance on how to resolve them, whether that's closing gaps, trimming intersecting entities, or applying the dimensions and relations needed to fully define the sketch.
