SWOOD Nesting: Using Fillers
The video demonstrates how SWOOD Nesting optimises board usage by filling unused space with standardised components. It covers creating a filler part using a panel template, saving it to the library for global access, and configuring nesting settings such as cutter diameter, offsets, rotation, and filler options. Three filler strategies—entire sheet, tile nested height, and tile last sheet only—are explained, showing how each affects filler quantity and space utilisation. The process concludes with generating a SOLIDWORKS assembly that consolidates tool paths and allows easy navigation between boards. This approach maximises material efficiency and supports future project flexibility.
