When working with bills of materials
in SOLIDWORKS manage,
there's a new flyout panel
giving direct access to component
information to streamline
the reviewing and editing
of bills of materials.
After selecting a component,
use the flyout panel
to preview the design.
Find out where the part is used
and get direct access
to reference documentation
and related files.
You can review and assign user tasks
and all information is readily available
within the user interface.
Editing the bill of materials and adding
new components is effortless.
With the embedded search tool.
This great new user
interface facilitates
more productive and effective bills
of materials management,
and saves time by making sure engineers
have the information
they need at their fingertips.
When assessing the impact of a change.
Knowing where the affected components
are used and which products are affected
is a crucial part of the analysis
and will influence the design solution.
In 2026,
the existing show all parents
where used view
has been improved, with additional options
including the ability
to show the immediate parents
and top level parents only.
This new intuitive view
makes it much easier
to see the immediate impact
of these design changes, and also presents
a list of all of the products
that will be affected by the change.
In SOLIDWORKS Manage 2026.
There's a new compare with option
to visualize what changes were made
to field values between different versions
of a SOLIDWORKS manage record.
In this example,
the component was originally
a manufactured part
and now it's a purchased part.
This is much easier
to see what was changed.
There's also a new option to perform
a red line markup
on a bill of materials, so you can quickly
see how the BOM has changed.
These
great new compare tools are now available
in the SOLIDWORKS Managed Web client,
as well as the desktop client,
so they can be utilized by an even wider
SOLIDWORKS manage audience.
