Introduction to 3D Scanning
On-demand
3D scanning and metrology are relatively new tools in the modern designer’s toolbox, but they have already greatly impacted our work. 3D scanning has a wide range of applications including reverse engineering, quality control, and to build off of unique geometry you may not have the CAD model for. If you’ve ever been interested in 3D scanning and want to see how it works, this webinar is for you. Whether you are a SOLIDWORKS power user or just starting your design journey, this webinar will shine a light on tools that can expedite your workflow.
Join TriMech Scanning Specialist, Brian Metzger, on an introductory exploration into 3D scanning technology. Brian has been an Application Engineer at TriMech since 2013 and has focused on 3D scanning hardware and software since 2017. In this webinar, Brian will demonstrate how to quickly and fully measure a tricky mechanical part. Brian will then provide an overview of the different types of 3D scanners and how to choose the one that suits your application. He will review the most important applications for 3D scanning, including reverse engineering and QA/QC. Finally, Brian will demonstrate powerful software tools that seamlessly integrate 3D scanning into your traditional 3D CAD workflow.
In this 3D scanning webinar, you will learn:
Gain a clear overview of the 3D scanning hardware options
Witness a live demonstration of the Artec Spider 2, one of the newest and fastest 3D scanners on the market
Understand the limitations of 3D scanning
Discover the range of 3D scanning applications
Integrate 3D scanning into your workflow using Geomagic for reverse engineering and quality control
