How to Create Your First Part in SOLIDWORKS Online Trial

Welcome to the SOLIDWORKS online trial. I just wanted to give you a quick overview of what to expect when you first start the trial. When you use the link for the SOLIDWORKS online trial, this will be the first thing you see here. You can either log in if you have my SOLIDWORKS account already, or sign up and create a SOLIDWORKS ID. After you log in, the next screen you'll see will look like this. Down the bottom, you just need to select your language and then press the launch button. It will take a short time to connect to the host, but when connected, you'll be presented with the SOLIDWORKS license agreement. Accept this and SOLIDWORKS will launch. As soon as SOLIDWORKS is started. You'll be presented with the welcome screen. From here, you can open sample files by simply clicking on the thumbnails. We'll start brand new documents by selecting Part, Assembly or Drawing. Alternatively, you can use the file menu to start a brand new document. The first time you create a new document, you'll be prompted to set the units and standards that are relevant to you. Then, you'll be presented with the type of document you'd like to create. The normal procedure is to create parts, assemble them, and then create drawings. When using the open and save window, there are two areas we recommend you save documents the home folder or temporary files documents saved into these folders can be downloaded to your computer. Alternatively, files from your computer can be uploaded to these folders. We do this by using the My Files option and the top of the screen. Also, at the top of the screen you can change application. Applications include SOLIDWORKS Visualize for photo rendering and Edrawings for viewing documents.
