Welcome everyone. My name is Tom and today we're at Mill CNC. to show how to make the most out of solid cam and your mill turn. We're going to focus on the three ingredients to ensure you have a great success with your mill turn. The first is the machine. It's key. You know what your machine can do and where its strengths lie. And today, we're fortunate to be working with the real gold standard when it comes to tourit mill turn the DN solutions Puma supplied generously by Mills CNC. Yeah. My name is Tony Dale and I'm the chief executive of Mills CNC Mills CNC is the sole UK agent for DNA solutions, which is the new name of Doosan Machine Tools. We've represented this brand in the UK for probably 25 years now. It's very well known. It's one of the largest machines tool builders in the world. They're building maybe 14,000 machines per annum, so the range includes over 400 individual different models. So whether you're after a small six inch, two axis lathe or you're after a vertical turning center or a multitasking machine, so the five axis, then we have it in the range. Big part of our market is full engineering supply solutions, turnkey automation. So there's a lot more value added than just selling a machine tool in a box. Customers now require more engineering assistance and predominantly a lot of automation and turnkey. Now we know what the machine is. We can look at the next piece. The next piece is the tooling. The right tools are crucial to make parts quickly, precisely and continuously. Today we're looking to partner with a Emuge Franken and also cuts to make certain we can leverage industry leading technologies to make complex parts with minimal cycle times. Emuge Franken They are global innovative German precision cutting tool manufacturer. We have been on the forefront of threading and milling technology for over a hundred years. We also specialise in drilling, gaging, work holding now our special standard PCD tooling Emuge Franken UK have built over several years a strong partnership solid solutions UK the partnership provides technical synergy between a professional CAD CAM company and a well-respected German cutting tool manufacturer. Close collaboration provide a smarter solution when integrating turnkey solutions for the CNC precision machining markets. We roughed and finished the majority of the aluminum 608 material with the franken diameter six free flue variable. helix ally cut end mill the four axis finishing. We apply the Franken diameter 8 R1 two flute Taurus alley cuts end mill something engraving. We apply the diameter to bull nose alley cuts and mill the alley cut range of all the distinctive rainbow coating. We were fully supported for the CNC turning requirement by Andy Martin, ultra cut limited at short notice. We discuss with Mr. Martin the four axis aluminum application and the exact certainty requirements. Ultra cut limited reacted to very quickly and provided a first class professional turning solution with strong technical emphasis. With the coil turning strategy and. Final piece of the puzzle is your cam system. This pulls everything together and is the linchpin to make sure we are putting the right first time solid cam. Not only allows you to program with cutting edge tool paths, such as imachining and trochoidal turning. It also enables simulation, if even the most cinematically complex machines to check what your machine is doing fast, effectively and safely. In today's part, we're going to see how these three ingredients generate lots of swath in some amazing parts. We are starting off with standard clear process to make sure we have a flat front face or a uniform diameter to make sure we're ready to make some serious chips. Next, we have to trochoidal turning the use of round inserts and zigzag backward and forward at an optimized engagement angle. Let's make sure we are moving material as fast as possible, keeping you in profit on your parts. Machined as quick as possible. With our turn section complete, you can start milling and you can't use solid cam without imachining This industry leader not only reduces tool wear like trochoidal turning it drastically reduce the cycle time. Rivets. Use of morph spirals and its variation of feed speeds and engagement angle. We ensure a constant cutting force to make sure that your cycle times are ahead of your competition. imachining isn't just for flat pockets, though. It excels on rough geometry too. And today that's what we're showing. There's much more to solid cam and with this spiral for access toolbar, you can see we can rapidly remove material in the same fashion as we can without a machine from a non-uniform shape on the diameter. To start finishing the parts, we continue with a four axis toolpath and scanning across the lobes and chamfers to restore this mill, allowing large stepovers for speed as well as a small radiuses for intricate details. To finalize the parts geometry, we can utilize one of Solid Cam's newest additions simultaneous Edge Breaking. This makes the process of deep bearing a cinch if Solid Cam automatically finding edges to break and calculating so on go that you require. As you can see, we now have made great finished parts and made them effectively because we've made the most of our machine tools capabilities, we've also ensured we've used high quality tooling at the right time. We've leverage the best tool path technologies available to us. So with all that being said, let's say thank you to Mill CNC for hosting us and supplying the DN solutions. Puma behind me. Emuge Franken and ultra cut providing that tooling. So we've been able to make great parts and to you for watching. So for now thank you and see you soon.
