This video benchmarks Dell Precision 3000 series laptops (3580 and 3581) against a three-year-old high-end Precision 7750 in SOLIDWORKS workflows. Results show major gains: large assemblies open 25% faster, static simulations complete in around four minutes versus seven, and flow simulations are over 50% quicker. Graphics performance improves too, with up to 34 FPS in rotation tests, though rendering in SOLIDWORKS Visualize remains slower than older high-end GPUs. While not ideal for heavy simulation or GPU-based tasks, the 3000 series offers excellent value and strong performance for core CAD work.
