Conditional notifications in SOLIDWORKS PDM are demonstrated through a walkthrough showing how workflow logic can automatically control who is notified during checking and approval stages. The example begins with a simple test file, where metadata entries for checker and approver determine how the workflow routes the document. As the file moves from check‑in to pending checking and then pending approval, notifications are automatically sent to the correct users, each containing contextual comments. The process is repeated with varied scenarios—bypassing checking, changing approvers, or requiring no approvals—to show how conditions drive routing decisions and notification behaviour. The demonstration highlights how conditional logic streamlines communication, reduces unnecessary alerts and adapts automatically to different approval requirements.
