Solid Print3D - Formlabs
3D Printing compressible cushion structures with the Formlabs Flexible 80A resin!
Designing parts to fit in those areas difficult to measure by hand has never been easier with the peel 3 scanner.
In this video, we take you through the full workflow for creating a brand new seat for our mini moto, from scanning to mesh cleaning, creating entities for reverse engineering and transferring seamlessly into SOLIDWORKS CAD software. Finally, we import into Materialise Magics to convert the solid body into a mesh-like structure. When printed on the Formlabs Form 3+ using Flexible 80A resin, this gives a rubbery, cushioning feel to the part, perfect for a comfortable new seat pad.
Using Materialise's range of options, we show how altering the mesh thickness can change the part's properties, making it more or less resistant to deformation under a compressive load.
