The 3660 remains the best choice for most CAD and CAE users, offering Intel 13th-gen CPUs up to 24 cores, DDR5 RAM, and top single-thread performance. The new 5860 and 7960 target heavy multi-threaded workloads, supporting Xeon CPUs with up to 56 cores, massive RAM capacity, and multiple GPUs for rendering, AI and simulation. Benchmarks show the 3660 outperforming pricier models in CAD and many simulation tasks, making it the most cost-effective option unless extreme compute or GPU power is required.
